You don’t really have to break into a sweat when you have to grill pork chops. It is not as difficult as it may seem. The biggest trick is to get the temperature right, marinate the pork for a minimum of six hours, and be familiar with the cut and work accordingly. If you follow a few simple steps to grilling pork chops, you can never go wrong.

How to grill pork chops: The first step is to prepare the pork. You can either prepare the pork with the bone or boneless pork chops. To begin with, sprinkle a seasoning of salt and pepper. If you want to enhance the taste of the pork chops you could marinate it with your favorite marinade and let it remain for 6 hours. It helps in adding flavor and tenderizing the meat. Put the pork chops along with the marinade in a zip pouch and refrigerate for 6 to 24 hours. The longer you leave the marinade, the better.

Clean the grill and put a coating of olive oil or canola oil. If you are using a gas grill, heat it up to 450 degrees F. Now, place the chops on the preheated grill. After searing the chops for a couple of minutes, you may flip it over and cook for another couple of minutes. Use up the remainder of the marinade by basting the pork chops, but ensure that you lower the temperature to about 250 degrees F. Keep the lid on the grill closed. Let the chops cook until the inside temperature reads 150 degrees F. Check with a meat thermometer and remove the chops off the grill and allow it to rest for about ten minutes. In a gas grill, it would take about ten minutes to cook a one-inch pork chop.

In case you are using a charcoal grill, let the charcoals become red hot. Clean and coat the grill with canola or olive oil. Follow the same procedure. Cover the grill and cook the pork chops. Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. When it read 150 degrees F take the chops off the grill. Let it rest for five minutes then serve with grilled veggies.
