Decades since introduction of personal computing you may still find too many business technologies which do not work. Oh, the hardware and software firms will advise you that they do. However they still aren’t getting it. As an example, visit Microsoft’s support site and type in “Microsoft Word Error” (rule out the quotes). Used to this and got 2,380,000 results. Is that this an indication of something working?

Of course I’m not being entirely fair. Many of these results return soon enough. Nearly everyone is minor problems or may be due to my mix of search keywords. And, except for Windows Vista, Microsoft is a good company that produces good products. All I am aware is thankfully they just don’t build airplanes.

The problem is that men and women within the technology business appear to have an alternative meaning of when something “works.” To me when something works, it truely does work on a regular basis.

As an example, we’re possibly the only family within my county that does not own searching for TV. We have a sizable Zenith inside family room which i bought greater than 10 years ago and it’s really…fine. Yes, I’m a cheapskate. However the thing works! And honestly, should i really need to visit a close-up of Kirstie Alley dancing the Flamenco? It’s the same for my refrigerator. It’s rarely failed me. Neither has the lamps within my house. Or my indoor plumbing. Or even the telephone. Or an instalment of Seinfeld. Or perhaps a Whopper from Burger King. These items can be counted on to dedicate yourself me whenever We need them.

I wish I possibly could the same for my Tivo, which still can not seem to record the best channel all the time. Or my satellite service from Sirius, which always usually go blank in the exact moment when Howard is going to say something funny. These are annoyances.
